I have a hacked car not real bad just enough to make the car interesting. We went under the steering column to fix the brake lights and then after fixing the broken switch the temp gauge stopped working. I un hooked the sensor between the 1&3 cyl. checked for power with test light. the sensor was getting power. I grouned the green wire at sensor and the gauge had no response.

went under dash I got 4 different cut HOT wires. Brown/white stripe, Grey,brown, and a clear it looks like someone put that one there for some reason.

I got a Yellow wire that looks like after VATS was bypassed tthey connected to a yellow wire and took it to a I guess a junction box with a Red,Blue,and Black wires that are cut and don't go nowhere. all these wires a big and a good size gauge.

I connected a ground to the battery and touched it to each one of the HOT wires. and instead of being pegged straight down it got pegged straight up (it moved) but I dont know which wire made it move my Son wasn't paying good attention.

What color is the wire coming FROM the gauge in the DASH to under the steering column? tell me that and I will find the HOT that it is supposed to be connect to. I know it is a HOT that is only HOT when the key is on.

this and the turn signals is the only thing stopping me from driving the car. Darn expert electrical engineers.
