bad starter relay?

Engine: 305 tbi
Transmission: 700r4
Axle/Gears: 7.5"3.42 gears forth gen 2000 camar
bad starter relay?

i have an 89 305 tbi.the car always starts when its cold.after driving a while on a hot day it won't start.not even a click.ive added a wire to the switch terminal of the starter.touching the wire to the positive side of the battery will start the car when the ignition switch won't.i replaced the starter solenolold.no difference.before i buy a 19 dollar relay anyone have any other idea of might be the problem?

U could bypass the relay

Could be Ign switch , neutral / clutch switch or relay at fault

Cheaper than throwing parts at a problem until you cure it
by elimination
