Starting up the car after at least 6 years

I have had a 88 T/A sitting in my garage for quite a while. I believe that the last time it was started up was around 6 years ago. Anyway, I would like to get the car running again. Anything I should be concerned about or focus on engine-wise before starting it up? Anything I should look out for? Thanks!

Change the oil, plugs, wires, cap, rotor. Drain the gas tank, put in fresh gas.

Pull the distributor and crank the oil pump after changing the oil.

See how it runs.

The only issue I see is that if it wasn't stored correctly with StaBil, you may need to replace your injectors, and I can help you out with that.

If I were you I would check/replace all fluids do plugs wires cap and rotor make sure everything is still hooked up properly check hoses for rot and before driving I would make sure the tires and brakes are in order.... once running I would seafoam the motor probably use 1/2 a can instead of the recomended 1/3 drain the tank fill it with fresh gas and dump the rest of the seafoam in the tank I would also check/change the air filter fuel filter maybe even the tranny filter... after all that you should be good to go if anyone sees anything I missed feel free to add on or correct me... hope this helpedand good luck good luck getting it back on the road the world can always use another 3rd gen on the roads

Great advice! I was going as far as to see if it actually starts before all that. But yea, once you see if it starts, do all that too.
