monster tach help

monster tach help

i just bought a auto gage monster tach by autometer. my question is where do i plug the actual tach wire to? is it the tach spot in the distributor or somewhere else? also can i run the light to the same 12v source that the tach power wire goes to? thanks

The signal wire that is part of the tach should be connected to the TACH terminal on the distributor.

It's fine to hook up the light to switched 12v, same as the tach power wire. I do that, personally, so I don't have to turn on the lights to see the tach at the track at night. I've heard some people say the bulb will burn out quicker, but I've never had that problem.
