i cant figure this out!

it runs but it will idle at about 950rpm at start up untill i pull itinto gear then it dies down to 500rpm, then back into park abou 650 to 700 rpm,

NO POWER wont do a burnout

i have the 305 TBI i believe and it ran fine the other day

i cut the a10 wire on the computer but reconnected it

was trying to disable the VSS Vehicle speed sensor,

but i started the car a few times with it like that and no change what so ever


it started to idle down one day then just died, started back idled fine for a few min died again, it was low on gas on the E and i figured maybe its out of gas??? so i just put 15 in it and now it will start idle strong hit the gas rpm needle will hit 3 grand and instantly drop


after i pull it into gear then back into park hit it again itll hit 3 grand stay for a split second and then go down,

i dont get it, theres no power i dont know what to check for my computer seems fine but does anyone know how i can resolve this? i need some help with this, this car is my baby and i cant stand to know somethings wrong with it,

my dads a douche and wont help me out on it,

dont know where else to turn,

I'll bet you regret attempting to disable the VSS now eh?

Many things can be wrong. A faulty EGR valve causes a rough idle, I believe it throws codes if the EGR valve is faulty. Definitely try and pull any codes from it.

Also, it sounds like it could be a vacuum issue, check all of your vacuum lines.

You're a bit vague; it will run fine all the way through the RPM range under 3000? Or is it sputtering through the RPM range, perhaps a fuel delivery issue.

 

well the strange thing is it isnt throwing any codes no SES light nothing to indicate that its anything thats wrong,

what i did do yesterday was remove the idle air control valve and soaked it in gas for about 10 min and as i was drying it the plunger pushed in and stuck i hooked it back into the sensor and screwed it back into place, then the car seemed to run like normal but after about 30 seconds it bogged out but didnt stall, ill make a video of what its doing later today and post it here, i just want some expert advise before i go out and blow money i dont have for something thats not faulty,


and for the rpm it was just an example, but i used to playaround in this car alot and i would do a burnout or two every week or so just to blow of some steam and always at around 1500 to 1700 rpm it would start to smoke the tires, now it takes around 3000 rpm to even load the suspension fully


i dont under stand it, it ran fine before the day it ran out of gas, im going to try and unhook the wire i cut and see if that makes a difference,

advise to anyone who tries that dumb*** VSS disable trick, DO NOT DO IT!

 

and also i unplugged the Throtle positon sensor and it died down just a slight bit plugged it back in and it didnt seem like it picked up at all

could it be the TPS? i hope not those things are 45.99$
