2.8 starting issues????

hey, i got an 86 firebird that takes a long time to start. sometimes you have to crank it for a good 7 or 8 seconds before it finally fires up. the warmer it is the longer it takes and in the winter it sometimes fires up like nothing. its got me stumped. the car starts every time but sometimes its kinda embarrassing because my friends just call my car junk but then i just point at their sunfires and cavaliers and they usually shut up.

I have the same problem. If you hit either in the intake it would start right up. But the next morning it will not start. Would that be the cold start injector? Thanks

When you spray starting either in the intake, it will start....But will not start on its own.

That sounds like you don't have enough fuel pressure. Put some fuel injector cleaner in the gas tank, replace the fuel filter, and the fuel pump relay. Those things are fairly cheap and if your lucky it'll be one of them. If none of the above helps the problem then your fuel pump is on it's way out.
