For hard to get to plugs, Ive always had good luck with a little tool I made. I picked up a spark plug socket from advance for $3. Make sure it is one with the inside hex all the way through the socket. I then cut half of the socket off and drilled the drive square out enough for a plug tip to fit through. I now use it to slide onto the plug and use a box wrench to get it out. Works great on tight places where you cant get a ratchet or regular socket.

Get one of those, and cut about 1" off the socket side. *Make sure the hex goes all the way down on the inside of the socket*

Then drill out the end so that the plug tip will slide through.

I can try to get you a pic later.

Re: number 5 and 7 plug, how to get out?

well, yesterday i got on it before dark and got er done.
i did have to go for number 7 from underneath the car.
it was actually the easiest plug i changed.
there would have been no way to get from top.

now i still have the problem.
when you come to a stop sorta fast engine dies.
seems to have a miss when you first crank before engine gets warm.
sometimes when you punch it the car just looses all power
and service engine soon light comes on.
i have also noticed a hesitation at normal shifting thru gears.
any ideas what problem is?

also,
what gear lube goes in a manual 88 5-speed v8?

thanks guys,
jd
