Will TPI work on a LG4?
Im getting a Firebird with a locked up engine. Its a TPI 305. I got a good LG4 with 601 heads and was wondering if i could just take everything from the bad engine and put it on the LG4 without any problems. Thanks

Re: Will TPI work on a LG4?
Depends on the year of the TPI.
601 heads have the 86-back bolt pattern. If the TPI motor is also 86-back, it'll all bolt right up. However if the TPI is 87-up, the center 2 intake bolt holes will be at the wrong angle; you can slot them and use "angle washers" and make it work.
Other than that, the only problem is that most likely, your LG4 is the 140 HP version, with low compression; it'll be even weaker than normal for a TPI 305. But it will work and run and all that, if that's all you need.

Would any of the TPI setup from the 305 work on a 350?

Yup; basically the same year model constraints except that all the Vette ones have the 86-back bolt pattern.
TPI itself is exactly the same on a 305 or a 350. Only the injectors, chip (tune), and knock sensor are different.

Thanks for the info. I'll probably end up putting the 350 in it. Its out of a 83 truck, so i figure I'll need to change the heads for sure and put a mild cam in it.
