So I've been playing with my cars building them the one thing I can't stand is how un reliable they are both of my camaros are the most un reliable cars I've ever owned but other than the routine things that go out most of its mostly my fault cause its just so fun to beat on em lol... but here is my plan for next summer I wanna find a 305 tpi vert with the 5 speed and posi I wanna make it snappy compared to stock but NOT fast I want it to be fun to drive but not too crazy so I can hold myself back from stomping the pedal everywhere I go cause I noticed my around 400 hp iroc never sees less than 3/4 throttle and breaks something every 500 miles my 84 monte carlo with a stock 305 lasted 10,000 miles with nothing but oil changes so I'm gonna make the iroc a track/weekend car but I want the vert as a daily driver but don't wanna look like an *** and let hondas walk me...
NO 350 swap.... my idea so far is once I get the car freshen the motor up maybe rebuild it port polish job a slightly bigger cam headers exhaust and a nitrous kit basically bolt ons with nos just in case nothing to crazy I plan on using all stock parts other than the nitrous and cam maybe a better clutch.... any thoughts opinions? Hs anyone gone this route?
Long story short I want it to be quick without sacrificing everyday reliability

 

Lots of people do this stuff. If its for a nice driver, put an LT1 cam in that 5.0 its a pretty good cam for either size of TPI motor.
