383 stroker build and clearance questions

383 stroker build and clearance questions

hey guys been awhile since i posted my 91 rs project is going well thx to all the help i've got from here props to u guys. my current setup is as follows 350 2 bolt main bored 30 over stock deck and stroker clearanced,400 crank 5.7 rods(arp bolts)with aluminum application felpro headgasket(no clue on thickness) camshaft is a compcams extream energy XE268H plus 100 pushrods procomp 1.5 roller rockers.and topend package is procomp aluminum heads 2.02 int. and 1.60 ex. with 190 runners with a weiand stealth action plus intake that i have gasket matched along with my heads,and toping it all off with a holy 750 vaccume secondary.i was told this setup is gonna make around 350 to 400hp at low to mid rpm and my heads where make for mid to higher end hp the new cam i have is a compcams magnum 280h was wondering if it was gonna be better for tis application than my current cam and will the 280h clear my rods. looking for help and suggestions ty

The 268 is a very mild cam, the 280 will be more suited to your heads. The only way to know what's going to clear your assembly is to try it.

thats what i was thinking also and was gonna go ahead and upgrade to the bigger cam while the engine was out was just worried that it wouldn't clear the rods. ty for the quick replies keep them coming

the 280h did clear my stroker so for future cam questions a 280h should clear a stroker ty guys for everything
