mild cam on stock block?

mild cam on stock block?

i have a 86 5.0 chevy block with stock internals and 601 chevy heads.
here are the specs:

14022601 267, 305 HO, 80-85, 58cc, 1.84-1.5, 7 bolt ex.

and i want it to sound a bit rough so ima install a cam. will this cam work with this head?

"Work" and "run good" are 2 very different things.

Instead of that, if you're just dying to swap a cam for some reason, use this one instead.

It's a KNOWN GOOD match for that motor in otherwise stock condition: will in fact actually make the car faster, instead of slowing it down.

I'd STRONGLY recommend replacing the valve springs with the cam mfr's recommendation at thte same time.
