I have a 1992 Chevy Camaro RS with the 305. It was running fine until about 3 days ago. It may have ran out of gas, i am not sure. But now it is not starting. I can see fuel coming out of the injectors. It will start but it will not stay started. It cranks, starts, and revs to about 3000 before the engine quits. I can smell the gas burning as well. I did fill it up with some gas, so it has a full tank

Any ideas as to what this could be?

Ill keep on here and frequently, so if you want to ask questions, feel free.

Thank you. :]

Pass side, behind battery tucked in fenderwell, there's a weatherpack witha fuse in it - check that just for the sake.

Re: 1992 Camaro Won't Start
Need air, gas, fire ... seems gas isn't the issue, so unless it's sitting it a vacuum, I'd look at fire next. Are the plugs firing?

Does it run until it's warm then dies, or just die above 3000rpms even when cold? I ask because there's an ignition module inside dist that goes bad, usually from heat, and a tell-tale sign is the car dying after warmup.

Sorry I'm no expert, and it's difficult sight unseen - but if injectors are firing a nice cone shape, then I'd look at spark issues. Just for fun, if you haven't done it in the last 2 years, replace the fuel filter too - a new filter never hurts, especially on an FI car.

Re: 1992 Camaro Won't Start
Have you watched the fuel pressure?

I know you say that you see the injectors spraying, but there may be enough fuel to start it but not to keep it running. The fact that it starts and then revs up to 3000 rpm's and dies sounds like it's leaning out and then dying. (too much air and not enough fuel)

Have you tried changing the fuel filter? Maybe when you ran it down low the sediment at the bottom of the tank got into the lines (or the "sock" in the tank).

Better to start a new question instead of bringing one back from 3 years ago
Will get better response back.

Need a way more info than what you posted to even guess what your problem is.
History?
A new problem ?
What tests have you done ?
Pulled the engine fault codes ?

To where, the injectors ?
