HELP Please: Front Cam Bearing...I scored it during cam removal.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for checking out my plea for advice.

Well, my engine tear-down was going great...UNTIL I was pulling the cam, and as I was sliding out the last bit, the helical gear contacted the front cam bearing (OUCH), and it has left some scores/scratches, etc.

Question: What should I do?

Could use some advice from you engine gurus. Thanks guys!

How bad is it? Just some light scratches? or more like deep gouges?

Apeiron, they are not terribly deep, but you can feel them (the the bottom of the bearing, between "5 and 7-oclock."

The safe thing to do is replace them, but that's a cast-iron PITA in the car.
