Transmission: 4L80E/4L80E

1. Drain the transmission by dropping the pan.
2. Replace the transmission filter.
3. Reinstall the pan with a new gasket and add as much ATF as you drained. Don't start the engine yet.
4. Disconnect a cooler line. Use a rubber hose or something to route the flow into a jug (at least a gallon).
5. Be ready to add fluid (funnel, ATF, etc.). Start the engine. Add fresh fluid as the old stuff is pumped out of the cooler line.
6. When the fluid being pumped out looks fresh, or you've pumped out about a gallon (and added that much as it was being pumped out), shut off the engine.
7. Reconnect the cooler line. Start the engine and check the level. You should have the transmission warmed up before you fill it up to the "Full" mark.
