Knock Sensor Question
I just replaced the knock sensor on my 91 Z28 305 TPI and replaced the pig tail. Now I am throwing code for the knock sensor which I wasn't before. Any suggestions? Is there a relay or fuse that may have wnet out? Also, does it matter that it is a knock sensor for a 91 RS 305? The auto parts store doesn't carry the knock sensor for the Z28 specifically. Thanks in advance for help.

Re: Knock Sensor Question
the rs 305 and z-28 305 have different part numbers so i would say yes they are different. and the KS is wired straight to the ecu.

Re: Knock Sensor Question
I have a 1987 IROC Z28 and it is throwing the knock sensor code as well. Where can I find the knock sensor and is there a relay for it.

Re: Knock Sensor Question
It will be located on the engine block just above the starter. It is wired to a ESC on your year model. and it has a white wire with a black connector. I beleave there is no relay for either cars in question.

Re: Knock Sensor Question
I will try and find the right knock sensor and replace it. Car runs with current knock sensor and code, but she is a little sluggish when I try to get on her. Must be from the effect on timing, or lack thereof, since the knock sensor is coding.
