Re: HELP with this connections/connectors pls...
pic 1 looks like a coolant temp wire because of the colors (yellow & black) byt usually they have a different style connector. Late uses weatherpack, early uses mushroom style.
Could also be that the broken end is the guts of a mushroom connector and the othe end goes to a coolant temp switched gizmo
The knock sensor has either a mushroom style connector or a suare little rubber block w/ a clip that you depress, the sensor only has a small pin sticking out with those. Wire is usually blue but early cars have a thick black shielded coaxial wire.
pic 2 - idle bumper
pic 3 - choke

Re: HELP with this connections/connectors pls...
Mines an 85 bird so the wire and connector colors might be different. Heres pictures of 2 and 3. The one on the drivers side is in the harness that goes up the driver valve cover, same as the wire for the ac compressor. Passenger side one is bundled with the then wires to the alternator.
I cant tell whats going on in picture 1. your hand is in the way. are you holding two seperate wires and need to know where each goes, or are those two joined together where your hand is?

Re: HELP with this connections/connectors pls...
It's kind of a light green. With a little bit of bluish gray to it. If you find one that puts out a constant 12-14 volts when the car is in run, that would be it.
What color is the one on the right of your first picture? On the car theres four connectors I know of that look like that. Two for the air diverter valve (part of the smog pump system), one for the carb mixture (looks like you got that one connected already), and one for the EGR solenoid. The only one on my car with the yellowish connector is the egr one. Which has pink and gray wires.
The one on the left I think does look like the coolant temp sensor with a smashed connector.

Only picture I can find, taken while removing everything for the engine swap. The wire is unplugged in the picture but still right next to the solenoid.

Re: HELP with this connections/connectors pls...
Theres a thick wire bundle that comes out the passenger fender near the ac/heater fan that goes toward the front of the engine then back behind it. Right where it gets close to the engine is where a smaller bundle with the mixture, the 02 sensor, and the coolant sensor wire branches off. Right where this branch is, two short wires come out which are for the AIR diverter solenoids, at the same place is also where the knock sensor wire comes out of the bundle. Knock sensors wire is dark blue. Farther back on that huge bundle is where the egr solenoid connector comes out.
The temp guage connector wire is in the same wire bundle on the drivers side as the kicker (the thing on the drivers side of the carb) and the ac comp. temp guage is a single wire and is dark green on mine. Its connector is weird and slides on sideways. The throttle kicker wire is dark blue.

Keep in mind its entirely possible that your wire colors and the way they're bundled together may be different since your car is two years older and not a trans am.

Re: HELP with this connections/connectors pls...
I see it listed on the auto zone site as their duralast EVS7. In this thread I saw a couple days ago https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tech...-solenoid.html some people said they were having trouble getting it, and that the one for later cars (91rs in this example, part EVS30 which they could get) works the same but is just mounted to the bracket differently. I imagine any major parts store can get one for you.

Re: HELP with this connections/connectors pls...
Thats not necessary. Most of us just feel good about being able to help keep one of these on the road and out of the junkyard. It's also good to help prevent a guy from throwing money away taking their car to a repair shop for things they could do themselves.
Just keep us updated on the status and some pictures when its back to life.
