really strange idle

So, if anyone knows what the timing should b on a 92 v8 350 camaro that will help...when my car is in idle- it "Chugs" idle, idle idle then chug then idle idle chug....any ideas? It doesn't die- and we have done a timing light so we know that's right

So we narrowed it down to a vac leak, can anyone give me an idea what it costs to repair something like that?

Depends on where the vacuum leak is. Start with the easy stuff first. Some guys will advise spraying carb cleaner on all of the vacuum line connectors. When the engine revs, you've found your leak. Never really worked for me. Vacuum line is relatively cheap and sold at any auto parts store. They need to be replaced from time to time anyway since they get brittle and crack. Don't forget the pcv valve when you start the project. It can cause a low vacuum issue.
