Oil specifications

hello,


i want to know what kind of oil can i put in my camaro z28 1982 (4bbl)
on camaro 's french forum , they said 15w40 or 20w50 mineral oil .

my engine is full stock and the temperature where i live are between -10 ° ,-15° C on winter and 20-30 °C on summer .
what about APĪ specs ?sc/ch is good ?

That is MUCH too thick.

Ordinary regular motor oil is fine. 10W-30 is about perfect. Doesn't have to be "mineral" oil; you can use synthetic oil if you want (I recommend it).

what API specs must i choose ?

Just go to wal mart and get some 10w-30 castrol or valvoline and you'll be fine.

i live in north of france ...no wal mart .

in france , cars shop call 'norauto', 'feux vert', 'midas' but they are stupid and don't know anything in mechanical....they are more stupid than an ape .

i do all maintenance myself ...

It will be a little thicker in cold weather, but it will work.

Sorry, didn't realize your in France. But like its a little thick but should work.

I would recommend oil with higher levels if zddp cause it is a non roller engine. Use something with 1200 ppm of zddp. It has been suggested to me to run Rotella Diesel oil. I use SM rated oil with an additive in my 86 engine.
