Need Some Advise

For a while i been thinking about dropping in a 350 and taking out my stock 305 that i currently have in my 84Z28

but here is the thing.. i gave my 350 to someone to had it rebuild but when i got my motor back to me it don't look like it been rebuild.. the water passages look rusted.. and there was dirt in the valley by the lifter.. (reason there was dirt because the person that was rebuild my motor didn't cover it and had dirt go in the motor)
i currently have my 350 covered up in bags in the garage but i just want to see if there is a way to see if my new motor has new rings with main bearings install (all the parts i gave him)..
and is there a way to take out the cam to see if he put in the comp cam i have him to put in without messing up the cam bearing..

i don't want to invest more money on this 350 if in the long run the bottom end will just break on me (i hope not)

thanks for the help
Valentin

Re: Need Some Advise

You'll have to disassemble things to check.
