Hmm.. weird feeling at 50+mph..

Well, today I got my exhaust finally replaced.. Y-Pipe back.. 3Inch into a Magnaflow dual.. however.. still have this weird feeling (seems like its out of the passanger side head) almost like a clicking or tapping noise. I don't suspect its the typical injector noise.. it sounds like the rollers aren't right and its causing a weird viberation.. anyone have any idea? I know the fuel filter needs to be changed badly.. (orginal 89..AC delco lol) and of course.. when I take it to a shop no one can hear the noise but me =\

Are you seriously running the original fuel filter? Get on top of your maintenance before you start looking for the cause of a probelm.

I just got the car, and yes its the orginal fuel filter, he had the orginal air filters, and still the orginal shocks\struts.. rofl. I had the engine fully rebuilt, and I'm trying VERY hard to get the fuel line to gently break free.. its heavly rusted on the passenger side of the filter(the one near the tire I can freely losen) I can't afford to snap a fuel line.. not sure if you guys have checked recently.. but you can't really find them anywhere. >.>!

I would imagine You're gears are 3.42 which are the stock Z-28 and iroc gears . With a 700 r-4 tranny and 2.73 You would be on the highway at 80 mph the engine would be turning about 1800 rpm locked up in 4th gear . The fuel line is just steel tubing bent to fit . If it's rusted n that old it might be a good idea to replace it anyway , You guys do have a little snow up there . Not as much as say Groom Creek , but enough . Good luck

Soak everything in PB Blaster or something before trying to break it loose. I agree, replace the lines if they are rusted.

Re: Hmm.. weird feeling at 50+mph..

The TC clutch engages at about 45mph in OD. With the converter locked, any roughness in the engine is transmitted directly to the drivetrain, making it much more noticable. Even with a good running engine, many people notice some harshness as the drivetrain becomes solidly connected to the motor.
