rebuilding a 82 z28 i swaped the old 305 with a mild preformce 350 fallowed by a 700r4 with a stage 2 shift kit and now on to the rear end now my rear end is a 3:73 posi. now i was wondering what gears should i put in the rear end(or keep the 3:73's) im building the car to cruise around the city and some 1/4 drags here and there but mostly high driven. so any info will help

Engine: 305 LG4 (H)
Transmission: 700r4
Axle/Gears: 2.73
Re: what gearing to use??

If you do highway driving I would keep the 3.73s. Its a good blend of accelleration and with an overdrive trans the RPM isn't too high on the expressway. Any shorter of a gear and your going to be maintaining a lotta rpm at highway speeds.
