Need pics of pulley setups

Seen a few pics of pulley setups that may work for me.

Spent way too much on an RCR setup thats real nice.

Problem is the 1 wire 50 amp alt may be too small and slowly draining my batt. and there is absolutely no way to mount anything larger without changing everything.

Its not an Fbody but a Chebby all the same.

Seen a few setups on here that look nice and clean and can use a big alt.

All Im using is PS alt WP and crank, no air never going to be any.

Ill use whatever water pump is necessary long as its not reverse rotation (dont think I can use that?!)

Can you guys post up, what brand the kit was how much and where you got it?

Would be nice to add more juice then I can add the overkill fan I really wanted instead of settling.
It will kill me

Is what you've got anything like this?

If so, then you'll need a much smaller alternator pulley to drive on the street.
That set up is for continuous high-RPM use. Your alternator will spin too slow to keep up. A larger alternator will not necessarily help the situation. Large alternators commonly have low output at low RPM as well.

Yup thats the one.

I know someone who can make a smaller alt pulley unless someone sells it.

Think that would give the fix? Was wondering about getting a larger water crank pulley but that would just speed up the water pump? Have a hi flow on there seems to cool Ok. Single 16 spal fan, 3 row radiator.

If the pulley alone would be the fix Id be thrilled. I know its only 50 amp but I run nothing other than an msd box fan and headlights. No radio heater etc.

Does anyone make it?
Put a lot of work and many hours into stripping anodizing/polishing would like to keep it.

Re: Need pics of pulley setups

I would keep the alternator, just change a pulley or pulleys.
Your alt is driven off of the WP pulley. A larger WP pulley would speed up the alternator and slow down the water pump.
A smaller alt pulley would only speed up the alternator.

I'm not sure if they still do it, but I've had Auto-Specialties make a custom pulley for me in the past. You may be able to send your alt pulley off and have a smaller one fabricated to replace it.
It's too bad those pulleys don't use the old style V-belts.

BTW, how many grooves is in your alt pulley?
I was thinking there might be a chance that a factory alternator pulley (1985 - 1987) might work for you.

Re: Need pics of pulley setups

Thanks, Ill have to look. Its a teeny (skinny and ribbed) belt.
Would you have a # or link for auto specialties?

Wondering what % I should have it made smaller.

Just out of curiosity would adding a larger crank pulley speed up everything? (alt and wp)

Wish I could use a V belt I have an 80 amp 1 wire that physically fits but the nose of it wont accept this style pulley its got a weird step on it.(rcr pulley/alt), standard style alt wont accept it.

As they say, nothing is bolt on lol.

http://www.aspracing.com/index.html

The practical limit for belt without an extra tensioner is about a 2" inner diameter before you start experiencing problems from too small a pulley.

A larger crank pulley would speed up everything, but that may not necessarily be what you're after.
