87 350 Aluminum Heads

Will a 87/88 TPI manifold bolt to a set of 87 Aluminum heads and are these a good head for mild preformance?

Yes. I like them in modified/ported state. You won't see much of a benefit if they are left completely stock. If they are used then they will probably need new guides or at least guide-liners at the least anyway.
Some pocket porting, machining the guide tops for more lift, a valve-job, and a deck resurfacing would do them a world of good.
When a head needs guide work and valve-job anyway, my preference is to convert them to 8mm LS1 type valves and use Z06 beehive style springs.
