1991 L98 cam vs 1997 LT1 cam

Ive got my L98 apart and i have my LT1 cam from my 97 SS ready to go in. I'll give the specs of the 2 cams below, but which one is better?

(91)L98 cam 202/207 .413/.428 441/.457 114.5
(97)LT1 200/207 .447/.459 lift 117 LSA

Whats the main difference between the 2 cams? Reason i ask is beacue i believe my LT1 cam is in better condition and has less miles.

the LT1 is a bit better, they're just slightly more aggressive L98 cams. it wont be a major improvement, but worth switching over if you're already in it.

Main diff. is, you have to cut the dowel pin on the lt1 cam.Lt1 cam looks like it would save you the expense of 1.6 rockers though.

I had already put it in and pushed the pin in far enough to clear the diff cover. but now im thinking about selling off this engines parts and going with a 4th gen motor. if i can get a decent price on a complete car. until then ill keep putting this one back together.

i just wasnt sure if id notice the gains of the stock lt1 cam over the tpi cam. i guess something is better than nothing.

The cam dowel pin can bepushed in further to match the L98 timing sprocket and you really want to use 1.6 rockers on that cam for sure as John Lingenfelter said "short on the duration and high on the lift" you will be at 493°lift w/1.6s car should pick up atleast 4 tenths in your car. I know in some aspects it does not seem like alot however a gain such as that and being undetected through sound of a cam is nice and stealthy

Then what's he going to about the stock valve springs with that much lift? The stock springs max out really low around 460-470.If you decide to get rid of that cam ,let me know
