Spark plugs

How did you guys change out your hard to reach spark plugs? Me and my friend were going to change them today and we could not figure out how we were going to change out the ones in the back. Does anyone have a method to changing their spark plugs or a set of instructions with pictures? Oh it's the 350.

From underneath the car. I use the spark plug socket and an open end wrench on those. Cant remember the size though, maybe an 18mm open end?

Re: Spark plugs

because you are having difficulties then can it be assumed that you still have the stock exhaust manifolds and smog pump/fittings?

There is no "easy way" although headers make it so much easier. (you want difficult then try a 4th gen LT or LS)

get what you can from up top, get what you can from below even if that means unbolting the engine mounts and jacking the engine up a little.

That is correct everything under the hood (and on the car) is stock (except for tires). Also I do not have axcess to an engine "jack".

me either. In fact, I've never heard of one. But, with the car on jack stands, and a piece of 2x4 wood and either a bottle jack or floor jack, place wood underneath oil pan, raise jack until just snug, remove motor mount bolts, raise engine using jack. You'd be amazed at how much easier access is with that little extra clearance.
