wierd problem
ok this is on a 92 rs with a 305. this problem has happened to me 3 times in the month. i go to turn my key and all my lights that should come on do but the car wont start. my security light is not on. i recently had a bit of problem with my vats system but i got that worked out with a new key and it was going good. when i try to turn it over i get no noise, except for the clutch on my air conditioning pump kicking on and off. now after it happens if i want for several minutes it seems to work its self out and it will start and run just fine. it seems to do it more after its ran for awhile. any ideas, well any not totally based on the vats system?

Re: wierd problem
Could be a bad ignition switch (not the key cylinder) - located on top of the steering column under the guages - you have to drop the column down to get to it.
Could be a bad neutral safety switch, located inside center console on side of shifter if it's a auto tranny, on top of clutch pedal if a manual tranny.
Could be a bad starter enable relay, usually driver side footwell under the black goo where the hood release is.
Might be a short in the purple wire from the inside to the starter.
