Hi everyone im new to this forum and looking at buying a 1991 z28 with the 5.7 tpi. Its a buddies car and before i buy it i want to get it running good so im satisfied with my purchase. The question i have is what would be some ideas as of what is wrong with it when we start the car it will run and warm up but after about 5 to 10 minutes it just bogs down and stalls. this motor is pretty much stock. I think the only thing he had done to it was injectors. Im also lookign at buying this and its a pretty solid car only a little rust spot in a couple areas just surface rust nothing else. The car has 94000 miles on it and looks great. He wants 2500 bucks is the car worth it. I know these questions have prolly been asked before but im new to this and would like some good input. and, not technical but, is this person a buddy, a friend or a passing acquaintence?

What is the statute of limitations with respect to buying a vehicle, the amount of time before it breaks and costs associated before the "buddy" is no longer on the hook?

No friendship is worth falling apart over a 20 year old vehicle that will need $$$$ spent on it.

 

another common problem is the ignition controll module in the dizzy,they get warm and start cutting out......does it start again about 20min later?
