Car: 1992 Chevrolet Camaro RS

Engine: 3.1L V6

Transmission: T5

92 Camaro V6, will only start using starter fluid

Got a 92 camaro with the 3.1 v6 started acting up now it will on start using starter fluid, but once its started after spraying it, it will run till you shut it off, then you have to spray her again. Advice??

Check the fuel pump and relay.

There is a double fuel pump circuit system...

1) ECM sends priming signal to fuel pump relay, pump primes for 2 seconds to feed injectors fuel to startup, and then ECM runs fuel pump after startup
2) Oil Pressure Switch runs pump when it senses oil pressure

Your car isn't getting primed, so issue with your fuel pump relay.

After you start the car with starter fluid, then you have oil pressure, so the secondary circuit kicks in and runs your pump.

If like you say the car continues to run after starting it with starter fluid, then your pump is fine (it's working since the car keeps running), so it's your fuel pump relay that is the problem.
