Holley vs Weiand Stealth Ram?
what's the difference between the holley and weiand stealth ram setup? It looks identical, both are stamped with the Holley logo and both have mixed information on different websites.
For instance I mainly see the holley good up until 6,000 RPM but I am seeing various results on the weiand... anywhere from 6,000-6,500 RPM.
Would either be capable of fully powering a 383 with a set of ported AFR 210's and a .600 lift 244 duration cam (probably in the area of 520-540 horse with a power band that cuts out at around 6,500 RPM)? Looking to start buying parts to liven up my TPI but I'm not going to bother if it's not able to fit my future use.

Re: Holley vs Weiand Stealth Ram?
they are the same...Weiand took over..
the tunnel ram design... is great for a 383... I'm currently converting my LT1 with my modified 1206 port HSR...

Re: Holley vs Weiand Stealth Ram?
Here is a list of the different part #'s. The 7542 part number is the version for vortec heads. The 7540 part # is for standard bolt pattern sbc heads. The 7542p and 7540p versions are just the polished versions of both.
Unless they've changed part #'s, here are the different part#'s for the fuel rail kits.
Fuel rails for vortec:
part #534-193 (adjustable fpr)
part #534-192 (non-adjustable fpr)
Fuel rails for standard bolt pattern:
Part#534-185 (Non-adjustable fpr)
Part#534-186 (Adjustable FPR)

Re: Holley vs Weiand Stealth Ram?
Right: Weiand used to be a separate company, but Holley bought it back in about the 80s.
Nothing about the product itself has changed. Not for a REALLY long time, since LONG before it existed as the "Stealth Ram", one could even say. It's still exactly what it used to be, which is the old "Street Ram" from the early 80s, except with injector bungs cast into it and a single horizontal-draft plenum instead of 2 small 4-barrel plenums bolted on top. Holley merely assigned it to one of their other brand name departments.

Re: Holley vs Weiand Stealth Ram?
So how come some sites say it's good from idle-6,000 and others say idle-6,500. Does it breath good at 6,500 still? (Like I said it doesn't really apply to me at the moment but I figure I can buy it and run it on the stock 5.7 TPI for now with a mild cam until I build the motor I eventually want to build.

Re: Holley vs Weiand Stealth Ram?

Re: Holley vs Weiand Stealth Ram?
Ad copy might have changed, but the part hasn't.
The part's been the same since about 1982.
Personally I pay ALOT more attention to metal, than ad copy.
Having been in both businesses for decades at a time, I know which one gets results.
Unfortunately I also know which one takes it to the bank.
