Occasional No start...why?
Occasionally when I turn the key, all I get is power from the battery for the radio lights horn and all of that. Which works fine, but when I try to start it, I get nothing. The fuel pump doesn't do anything, and the starter doesn't do anything at all. It happens at weird moments too. It happened yesterday, so I got out and got a new key I had made and it worked. Then I tried the original key again and it worked. I have no clue what causes this.
Any ideas?

With your 92, it could be a bad VATS. Might be something wrong with the old keys chip, like not always making contact, causing no-start.

I just think it's weird that once It worked with a new key, the old one worked again no problem.

That is why I said the old not always making contact. New one isn't worn so always work. Old one sometimes touches, sometimes not.
Just bypass the VATS completely & never hafta worry about it again. New keys/spare keys are much cheaper too.

Re: Occasional No start...why?
The cheap resistor bypass will work only if the VATS Module is still working. It is simply a resistor put inline, to trick the Module into thinking that the correct key is being used.
The "fancy" box totally eliminates the Module, which is good for when a Module goes out & the resistor trick no longer works.
