Difference between TPI and MPI

Can I ask If there is a differance 5.0 V8 MPI To A TPI
I am buying a 86 Iroc on Friday, And the kid said it is TPI
I did a Vin Check on it and it said 5.0L V8 MPI
Is this a good motor? I know what the TPI can do, I have had one.
Just don't want to buy if its not a good motor.

Any info would be great! Thanks

"Tuned Port Injection" is a "multi port injection" system. So, no, in '86, there wasn't any difference. The usual designation of this GM injection system is "TPI", though.

The 305 is a good, reliable, long-lasting engine with little more than basic maintenance.
