fast idle and no start
I hit the car with starting fluid to get it started.I just put a new alt on it.and it had been running ruff from previous owner letting it sit along time with no love.I put some sea foam in it and the light back fire through the exsaust went away, but now it wants to idle at 1500rpm and when warm dosnt want to come down.Dose this seafoam cause this?plus once the car is warmed up if I shut it off and try to start it right back up,it will not start without another shot of starting fluid of till it cools back down. There are other things I need to check on also, but first these 2.

The alternator won't cause the symptoms you describe. However, if you messed with any wiring when installing the alternator, you may have brought this on. You don't specify which car this is happening to. However, your three cars each have several things in common. One is the electric fuel pump. Check fuel pressure to verify that it is working correctly. Check the coolant temp sensor at the front of the engine, next to the thermostat. Check the MAF sensor if applicable, for signs of damage to its wiring. Look for vacuum leaks.

Re: fast idle and no start
It's the 89 iroc with 350tpi stock.I went out this morning and it started up,run ruff so I didn't run it long.I'm going to try draining the tank, changing the fuel filter.is there any way to just clean the injectors or do they have to be replaced if the fuel has gumed them up.I've got seafoam in the tank now,but i'm afraid to run this stuff through the system now.

Re: fast idle and no start
If you're concerned with running the fuel though your system then don't. Seafoam is a good product for cleaning injectors and upper cylinders. It can also loosen crud in the system and leave it in your injectors' screens. Try adding more seafoam after you replace the fuel. You may end up having the injectors serviced professionaly. Good injector services use sonic cleaning. A method no additive or on car service can match.
