Need the casting numbers and markings off the heads ( under rocker cover ) to confirm type.
Heads could also be aftermarket Vortec ( 8 bolt ) heads from China

880 block is the one used for the Fastburn engine but is also used for most GMPP crate engines
and millions of Vortec truck engines as well

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Re: engine code

Could be; nothing you have said so far "proves" that it is, but nothing "proves" that it isn't, either, so it isn't ruled out yet.

Get the head casting #s. That's the "proof", nothing else will do.

Re: engine code

10243880 is teh same casting number on the 350 I pulled from a 98 silverado for my 355 engine build. It is a roller motor, but without knowing more about what's done to the motor, it's hard to say.
