1970's block with what type of cam?
Ok I ended up getting a 70's block cast #3970010 2 Bolt Main, machined bored, ect.. I need to know what type of cam and lifters the block can use, hydro. Roller, hydro. Flat tap. Ect and roller or flat tap lifters.
I'll be using it with 1993 heads with 1.5 rockers

I can't just put in roller lifters from my engine and get a new roller cam of does some machining have to be done to it?

Comp's retro-fit roller setups work well. I had the XR270HR K kit in my '77 350 block and other than having to add pushrod guideplates it worked great.

Little pricey, but it's actually about $300 cheaper now than 10 years ago.

How about hydro. Flat tap; would that fit like the stock back then? I wanna keep it cheap and besides it's going to be a 355 Tbi when I finish it, maybe even a Tpi if I feel like doing the wiring.

I would strongly suggest going with a roller cam. Its one of my bigger regrets about my build.
The extra power and peace of mind is worth it. If you insist on going with a flat tappet cam at least do some research about zinc levels in modern oils and proper break in procedures.
