My 91 camaro died while driving. No restart. Its getting fuel, but no spark. It will crank. But will not start. The security light flashes while teying to crank. I need help please.. I hope it is not the vats system. If so I can easily bypass it with the yellow wire under the dash with the right resistance.. and it should start. It started surging before it died and then nothing but cranking...

 

Vats disables the starter as well as the injectors. If starter still turns, it doubtful it's the VATS. Are you sure it's getting fuel? If it's a no spark issue, might be the pickup coil or the ignition module inside the distributor.

 

ok thanks for the reply. sorry it took so long to get back to you.. work work work.. anyhow. I replaced the ignition module, and the rotor button and the cap.. it will start now but misses very bad..it will not stay running. sounds sound it jump time, but it is running. i checked the wires and they are right. do you know the firing order. I looked it up but it doesnt make since to me.. it says 123456. I dont know.. I may have one wire off..
