Which Spark Plugs

Ok so i ordered plugs for my camaro. There taper seat. the ones i pulled out are a gasket seat. Can I use the taper seat? im not even sure if the gasket seat ones are the correct ones because the guy I bought it from wasnt the smartest so he could have put the wrong ones in. its an 88 5.7 iroc-z.

Re: Which Spark Plugs

Tapered seat plugs were introduced in the early 70s. All SBC heads since around 73 have had them. Unless your heads have been swapped, that's what you need.

You can check the head casting # to make sure what heads are REALLY there.

Wouldn't be the first time some PO had either swapped something, or just made an ignorant mistake.
