EST sensor before timing

Axle/Gears: 3:27 9 Bolt Borg Warner
EST sensor before timing

Shop manual states I need to disconnect the EST sensor before I time my engine...What is it and where is it ?

Its a two wire pair plug on the left side of the engine bay sticking out of the harness. Should be pretty easy to get to and very visible.
