My engine.. what is it?
I just brought my third gen and i have not clue what engine is in it. I do know that its a Edelbrock (which is pretty obvious) and the its a 350 small block. Can someone tell exactly what it is and what it needs?

i think your talking about the air cleaner... that sits on top of your carb.
the carb is an edelbrock, it is the object that is badged edelbrock
what it NEEDS is for you to keep your hands off of it untill you do some reading about chevy small blocks and third gen camaros in general.

Re: My engine.. what is it?
The "cage" looking thing is the air cleaner, and needs removed ASAP. We call those the "Triangle of Death" - the foam will melt if you ever backfire, and burning melting foam will get sucked into the engine and make a mess.
Driver side, rear of block, under the head - there will be block numbers - you need to get those to tell whether it's a 283, 302, 305, 307, 327, or 350 - because externally you can't tell the difference between any small blck chevy. The numbers are very hard to find - no room for your head to get in there and see - try using a compact mirror.
