Replacing spark plugs: where is it? [Pic]

I know, this is a very rudimentary topic. I was set on replacing the spark plugs on this 147k engine. I thought it was just a simple unscrew, replace, and screw. Except... I don't know how to access them in the first place!
((Big transition from dealing with little r/c 2 stroke engines))

So the GM shop manual says to remove the plenum (I'm not sure what that is in the first place)
And just first glance at the engine, I don't know where to start:

Can anyone throw some tips/ forum threads my way?

Dont remove the intake plenum or anything else

Drivers side are strait forward, pull the wire, unscrew the plug, gap new plug install, reseat wire

Pass side you'll just have to figure out. #2,#4 should be easy enough, #6,#8 may be easier from underneath the car. Some people can fit their hand in there, others not. A stubby flexible ratchet is a big help

Speaking of plug. going by what I see in picture 2, Where are the spark plugs? I'm thinking its those blue things in pairs, but by the engine schematic in the book its somewhere below...

near that metal thing sticking to the right of that very rusted component. right?
I honestly don't know.

I honestly don't know.

the plugs are under the "rusted component" AKA the exhaust manifold. if that still yields nothing, follow the plug wires from the destributer....

The driver side looks do-able right about now, but the passenger ..not so much.

Is this task more conveniently done from underneath?

if you cant access them from the top then yeah, probably. if you go underneath, you might find a universal joint and an extention handy.
