Bolt under pitman arm

Does it come off first, before I use the pitman arm removal tool?

Yes. Not that a pitman arm would EVER fall off without it (you'll see what I mean when you use the tool) but yeah, you gotta take it off.

You may want to hit those splines with some penetrating oil a few days before removal.

What exactly are the splines. I dont know the technical names for everything. Its been hit acouple times over the past hour, and im still trying to get the last tool

Just spray the lube all around the part of the pitman arm that connects to the steering box.
