Car sometimes will not after its warm
My car sometimes will not start after driving it its usually has to be pretty hot. It just cranks over and over. If i let it sit for about 10 minutes or so it will usually start up.
Brand new distributer and have tried to swap out coils and still the same conclusion.
I put a noid light on the injectors and theres no power there during those 10 minutes or so.
Any input would be great.
Thanks

Are you sure there's no power? Or just no pulse. Use a test light to verify 12v on the power side of the inj connector. The power side should be pink but I can't say for sure because GM changed colors over different years/models. It sounds like you have one or more injectors with failing coils that are shorting ot with heat. This is somewhat common.
Verify bright spark when this issue occurs. Disconnect all four injectors on one side and recheck pulse when cranking. If spark is good and pulse is good with injectors disconnected, test injector coils for resistance cold and hot. If resistance drops below 12ohms on any one injector with heat, remove injectors and send in for testing and service. Mark the one(s) that were lowest. Southbay is a member on this forum. They give very good service and their prices are quite reasonable. They also sell BoschIII replacements at a very good price.

Great info. I will be doing does recommendations over the weekend. I have also notice that the car requires more cranking when cold to start then previous.
Thanks for the info, I will post results some time next week.

Re: Car sometimes will not after its warm
Well my car did not make to the weekend. It die while driving home from work(towed it home). After doing some trouble shooting I ended up replacing the ignition module and its running like champ.
I don`t really know what killed the module as it was a new one that came with the new distributor that was recently installed. It could have been a cheap knock off as it did not have a name brand or any manufacture id on it.

Re: Car sometimes will not after its warm
A lack of dielectric grease or heat sink compound on the bottom of the ECM can cause failure due to heat. I trust you used what came with the new ECM to coat the bottom of it.

I think henryd3 means the ICM, not the ECM. There is a broad range of quality between different suppliers of this module and reman distrbutors. AC Delco or Standard Motor Products are probably the best OE replacements.
