I bought this car from some piece of **** who didn't deserve it. So it needs a lot of work.
But once she gets some temp, if I'm at a redlight she'll idle reaal low then die out. Then she's a bitch to start back up, have to try a couple times.
Or when I'm driving real slow like in a parking lot, dies.
While driving like this...in 1st and 2nd (it's an auto) There's like....a dead spot in the throttle from 1/2-3/4....reall weird, like I let off the gas. Seems like she's choking or misfiring. Originally thought it was a trans slip, but the RPMs don't continue to rise.

Hard to start back up? that kind of sounds like a bad ign. control module. It is on the distributor. I mean it could be a number of things really. You have a check engine light on ? Try jumping pins A and B on your under-dash diagnostic port (ALDL connector). See what flashes from your SES light.

 

Got the codes....Cleared them, and one came back...15..cooling temp sensor or something along those lines, which i am aware of. Pretty sure the t-stat is garbage.
Got a muffler on there today, the back pressure seemed to help, but it was cool outside, never really got warm. I'll see what codes were thrown again in the morning

 

I would replace the CTS.
