Oil pressure switch above the filter?

Hi
What is the oil pressure switch above the oli filter on my '93 Roadmaster L05 engine for?
Fuel pump safety cut off? Dashboard warning light? Other?

Axle/Gears: 10 bolt posi, 3.73 Richmond Gears

On the LB9 its for the oil gauge (guage pegs out when the sensors bad) not sure if thats the case with a LO5...
