fuel pressure bleeding off to fast???

I noticed that my fuel pressure bleeds off from 54 to 0 in about 4-5 minutes. I dont remember it bleeding off that fast in the past and I have checked for leaks and I dont see or smell anything. Is this considered normal?

Im asking for a huge favor from everyone here with a facebook page. Please go to the Nitrous Express Facebook page and Like it. Then scroll down through the wall and look for a silver 1991 Z28 with an SS hood on it. Click the Like button on it. I entered my car into their contest and the person with the most votes wins a free nitrous kit. The military dont pay much so I sure hope I can win this.

Have you checked for leaking injectors?

Re: fuel pressure bleeding off to fast???

I just ordered a new set of 30lb FMS injectors. I needed new one anyway and I will be shipping these old ones out to be cleaned and then sell them to my boss for his Impala SS

Re: fuel pressure bleeding off to fast???

I have had the same thing happening. Make sure that it isn't leaking injectors that you have. If injectors are fine it is most likely a back check valve in the fuel pump. Mine does the same thing and I have been driving it this way for 4 years without any problems.

Re: fuel pressure bleeding off to fast???

Fuel pump is about 2 years old. Holley pump was put in. Im going to find out if it is the injectors when I put the new ones in. I sure hope it isnt a bad pump. I rather drink acetone then drop my friggen tank again.

Guys, please read my sig.

Re: fuel pressure bleeding off to fast???

I know that there are some high performance fuel pumps that don't have check valves. If your injectors are not leaking and you don't have any running problems, I probably wouldn't worry about it.
