hi i have a 1991 firebird formula with a v8 305 tpi high output motor 5spd
wih fuel injection. ( 94k miles )

the car has been sitting for a few years in my garage and i have been recently driving it again ,and i needed to change the fuel pump out because it went out. i used the oem model and the car ran good for about 10 mins.
i changed the injectors, and got a new gas cap.
the car runs but runs poorly, and underpowered. I have changed the fuel pump out before and this has never happened. there is higher pressure in the gas tank everytime i take the cap off, and towards 1000 rpm the car bucks and wants to die.
i have a hint that it maybe my charcoal canister, but i have to idea where the damn thing is. Are there any vents in the tank or pressure relief valves i could have messed up?

Have you tried a new fuel filter?

Might need some Seafoam iin the tank as well - gas turns to varnish after sitting, and gums up everything.

 

yes i switched the fuel filter out when i did the fuel pump, i just dumped a few cans of seafoam, ill drive it around for a few days and see how she runs.
