Oil pressure 10 psi at warm idle is this a problem?
I have a 91 firebird with a 305 TBI and 151,000 miles. At warm idle the oil pressure is reading at, I think, 10psi if I'm reading the gauge right. There are no knocks or taps coming from the engine and it runs pretty smooth. Is this pressure a problem?

Assuming the gauge is reading right, which it almost certainly isn't, it's not that much of a problem.

should I hook up a mechanical gauge and see what it says?

Might try a new sender for the guage - it's located just above oil filter, about $30.

A mechanical gauge will confirm if you have a bad sender or dash gauge.
What does the pressure increase to when you rev it up?
I fixed a truck a couple of years ago that had bad oil pressure when the engine was warmed up. 15 psi when reved up and dropped to 2-3 at an idle. No engine noises at all. Ended up being bad cam bearings.

It's got a new sender on it. I think I was reading the gauge wrong. When cold it sits consistently at 30psi. When warm it Idles around 15psi (At least I think that's 15, it's the mark directly in the middle between 0 & 30). When I drive it it's usually between 30 & 35.
