just needing a question answered

dont know what this piece would be called and dont know what i need to get it to not leak a bunch of water. am i needing a new clip or washer please help...THANKS!!!!!

anyone?? i just need to know what i am needing to keep it from spewing water all over the place. i dont know whats missing or if it just needs to be replaced

Thats called a heater hose connector. I've replaced those before though. They are in the help section at autozone or advanced auto parts. Here's a link.

first of all thanks for responding i almost thought i wasnt going to get an answer even with all the views. second with replacing these things before is that what is needing to be replaced or am i just needing a new gasket or something else. that pipe just does not sit well in there and its got a lot of movement

The clip in the connector is what holds the pipe in. An o-ring in the connector is what seals the pipe. The pipe can have a little movement when its connected. If the clip is broken, it can cause excessive movement and damage the o-ring causing a leak. From what it looks like in the pic, the clip is half broken. Pretty common. If coolant is coming out at the connection, replacing the connector should fix it as long as the pipe is not damaged. I've seen the pipe eaten away from coolant and rust and the pipe wouldnt seal anymore. If thats the case, replace the pipe and the connector.
