its a 400 mass air tpi in a 74 caprice im getting a intermittent rich idle that really comes out of nowhere. somtimes ill start the car and it will idle at about 950 and sound beautiful on other random times ill start the car ill get black smoke out the tail pipe and rediculous fumes that could probably kill you if you stand back there longer than 3 seconds.

i have an unbelievable list of new parts that actually fixed stuff but everytime i fix something something else breaks like clockwork, its pretty rediculous. the alternators having trouble keeping up with the draw so this may have something to do with it but i doubt it because i have a msd ignition setup (box, 8.5 wires, nice plugs) and a brand new stock dist.

NO CODES and when im datalogging on aldl the 02 voltage is all over the place. im thinking its an exhaust leak but i dont know how to test it for leaks and its weird how intermittent this problem is it could run fine for 5 minutes solid then out of no where stall and idle like ****. other times it will start out idling like **** and stay idling like **** until i leave it alone for 15 minutes.
