need some help with too much pressure

i need some help because my old fuel filter broke because of way too much pressure. i put a new on on it, i am wondering if it is going to break too. the people that i bought it from switched it from fuel injected to carb. they have a long *** return fuel line running all the way around the car. how does this create soo much pressure, and how could i stop it?

Re: need some help with too much pressure

Is it a RETURN-STYLE regulator? You need a return-style regulator like the Mallory 4309, and then the correct fuel line sizes/barbs. If they tried squeezing a 3/8 hose barb into the 5/16th hose, then they cut the hose inside, and created a restriction thus increasing pressure.

If you have an EFI fuel pump, it needs a bypass style regulator. Youll need a 3-way with a carb. Its probably dead-heading at this point.
