91 bird 3.1 slugish,chugs,stalls,eats gas

ok i bought this car 2 months ago and it would not start..well after playing arould i found out if i pull the bank2 injec fuse it will start run and idol but lacks much power...like i cant even powerbrake it .and if i have it running and put the bank2 fuse back in it will slowly sputter to a stall ..and this thing eats gas bad i burned 1/4 tank just at a 15min idol with some reving but like 3000rpm max..ok here is what i have done i pulled the timeing cover marks were good chain was good but i had to replace the tentioner thats all good now...i set the timeing all the injecters are in range..new fuel filter, fuel pressure is 42 .....and i know this is nuts but i tryed to get codes and guess what it dont have a mil...crazy yes but i pulled the cluster to see if it was a bad bulb and theres not even a spot for a mil..so im stumped..but today i got on a mission to look at other things and with some reading seen it could be the tps so i played with that and im not sure what to look for and my dang meter is brokin and there is no adjusting it....oh the last owner replaced the ecm also....but any help would be great i want to drive this car b4 it snows lol

Replace the fuel injectors. Just because they measure in range doesn't mean that they are still good. You proved it was the injectors by pulling fuse INJ2 and the engine then starts.

Get a set of Bosch reman from someone such as South Bay Injectors:

First set under "Most Popular Items", hmm...

Forgot, our cars don't have a MIL light, look for a place that has SES (maybe CEL, although I'm more inclined to say SES).

Code 22 is TPS low. So double check what you did when screwing around with it. It may be just unplugged. Or the code was from it being unplugged while the engine was running.

The TPS isn't adjustable and doesn't need to be. The ECM auto-zeros it.

Code 34 if MAP low. This is an uncommon code, and I would suspect that you had unplugged the connector to it while the engine was running. Same as the TPS, that will set the low code.

You may want to do an idle relearn once the new injectors are installed. Doing this will also clear the codes. Search the V6 board here with my username as the poster and "idle learn." There are several threads that describe it. A nuisance but easy to do.

If you don't do an idle learn after the ECM loses power the engine will stumble, stutter, spit and stall. And you will want to disconnect the battery while swapping injectors, with all that fuel around.

Code 33 is MAP high, and is commonly set when the engine isn't running correctly. What happens is the RPM drops a little the IAC opens to correct, the MAP reading goes high, and the ECM thinks that the MAP sensor is bad, when it isn't.

With the stock Multec injectors the coils short out. They can't be rebuilt because the coils can't be replaced. They can be cleaned and new filter baskets put in, but that doesn't fix the coil problem.

Once the coils start to short the ECM can't properly drive them. With only one driver in the ECM all of the cylinders suffer.

RBob is absolutely correct. To my knowledge there aren't any companies out there that replace fuel injector coils. Unfortunately the multecs short out because the coil is exposed to the fuel, so over time the coils get damaged. Not sure what your budget is, but all tgo members receive a 10% discount on all injectors with promo code tg11. If we can help you in any way please do not hesitate to contact us.
